Crack

About Crack

Design

Crack is a low table collection defined by a clean parallelepiped shape and a surface that catches the eye without asking for attention. The geometry is crisp, the presence is graphic. But it never feels cold, because the finish has movement—like a fractured reflection held in place.

Designed by Johanna Grawunder, the piece uses light as part of the design, not as an add-on. Thin white luminous lines cut through the shattered mirror effect, creating a quiet pattern that shifts as the room changes. And with a dimmer, the glow can sit in the background or take a more prominent role in the evening.

Materials & build

The structure is glass, assembled with panels glued at 45°. That mitered construction keeps the silhouette sharp and continuous, so the table reads as one solid volume rather than separate parts. The decoration delivers a shattered mirror effect, controlled and intentional, separated by those fine luminous lines.

Crack is not available custom made. The selection is fixed, which suits the precision of the build and keeps the look consistent across the collection.

Comfort, in use

This is a table made to be lived with, even if it looks like an object. The top feels visually active, so it pairs best with simpler accessories: a book, a tray, a single vase. And the light helps in the moments that matter—low evenings, softer rooms, spaces where a standard lamp can feel like too much.

Proportions are straightforward. Options include 15.7″ x 15.7″ at 16.1″ high, and the same footprint at 20.1″ high, plus larger formats at 27.6″ square and 12.2″ high, and 51.2″ x 27.6″ at 12.2″ high.

Placement & lifestyle

In a living room, the lower versions sit naturally in front of a sofa, especially in rooms that already have strong materials like leather, stone, or dark wood. The luminous lines bring definition without clutter, so the table works well in more minimal spaces too.

In a lounge or hospitality setting, Crack can act as a subtle focal point. It gives off atmosphere, but it still reads as furniture. Mentioning it is almost inevitable once it’s switched on.

Longevity

Glasitalia’s approach here is about precision: clean edges, tight joins, and a finish that stays interesting over time. The glass surfaces are resilient in everyday use, but they reward a little care—soft cloths, gentle cleaning, and a mindful approach to anything abrasive.

The lighting element is meant to be used, not saved for special occasions. Keeping the dimmer low most of the time maintains the understated effect that makes Crack feel right, year after year.
