About Spectrum
Design
Spectrum is a low table with a clean, tub-like silhouette and a strong sense of geometry. The form is simple at first glance, but it has depth. The mirrored base pulls light into the volume, while the four vertical sides do the visual work with texture, pattern, or color.
Designed by Piero Lissoni, it reads quiet from a distance and more detailed up close. And that contrast is the point. It stays composed, even when the finish choice makes it more expressive.
Materials & build
The structure is made from bonded laminated glass slabs set at 45 degrees. The bottom is mirrored. The sides can be specified in Flutes, Quadretti, Masaccio, or Botticelli, depending on the look desired. They can also be done in Extralight glass, or in transparent colored glass with a choice of 12 colors.
A separate support surface completes the piece. It can be positioned as desired, which changes how the table is used without changing its footprint. This top surface is available in Extralight or the same transparent colored glass options.
Comfort and everyday use
This is glass, so it feels crisp and precise in day-to-day living. The mirrored bottom brings a sense of openness around seating, and the tub shape creates a contained center that naturally organizes objects. Books and trays look intentional here, not scattered.
But it still works for the ordinary moments. A cup, a phone, a small stack of magazines. The adjustable support surface lets the user decide where the “landing spot” should be, instead of forcing everything to the middle.
Placement & lifestyle
Two sizes are offered. SPE01 measures about 39.4 inches by 39.4 inches, with a height of about 12.2 inches. SPE02 measures about 39.4 inches by 19.7 inches, also about 12.2 inches high. Both sit low and feel relaxed next to sofas and lounge chairs.
In a calmer room, Extralight keeps it airy. In a space that needs more character, one of the textured side options or a transparent color brings movement without adding bulk. Spectrum can sit alone as a statement, or it can be paired with softer upholstery for balance.
Longevity
Glass wears differently than wood or metal. It doesn’t patina in the traditional sense, but it holds its clarity and edge when treated with care. The construction is all about alignment and clean joins, so it stays visually sharp over time.
This piece is not available custom made, which keeps the selection focused. With glasitalia, the finish choices are the main way to make it feel personal, while the form stays consistent and considered.
